Football

Ball Control
One of the most important football skills as player should practice is to improve their ability to instantly control the ball using any surface. This football skill will enable the player to then make a decision on the next pass or shoot.
  1. You should be alert, on your toes and ready to move in any direction
  2. The first movement you should make is to move into the line of the ball
  3. You should also recognise the pace, height and speed of the ball and adjust your position accordingly
  4. You should quickly decide and select the most appropriate control surface
  5. Relax the control surface on contact with the ball and cushion the ball in the chosen direction, within playing distance and away from any defenders
  6. Head up to select next option, pass, shoot etc

Pass Your Ball
More passes shorter than 4 - 6 meters in length are often made in our football game at 3G mini football pitch than other kind of pass. You have to constantly have your heads up, to be aware of space, team mates and your position.

You will have to be alert, and ready on your toes, be able to technically make short passes and be able take decision on control and pass to the next player.

  1. Communication – verbal and with gestures from receiving player on where they want the pass to be played
  2. Receiving player to find a good angle and distance of support for the passer
  3. Passer, movement after the pass to find space and be a supporting player
  4. Control the ball out of the feet
  5. Head up, to “picture the pass”
  6. Straight, slight angled approach
  7. Non – kicking foot alongside the ball, body shape compact and over the ball
  8. Strike the ball with a firm side foot and through the middle – centre of the ball
  9. Kicking foot follows through to the target
  10. Decisions on accuracy, timing and weight of the pass
  11. Decision on first time pass or control and pass
Shooting + Power
  1.  Pull back your strong foot
  2.  Swing it towards the ball and hit it with your instep or on the top of your foot (not your toes!).
  3.  With your knee over the ball strike it with the top of your foot and your toes pointed down towards the ground.

(But if you really want to be the best striker in the league, or school, or whatever your case may be, don't have a strong foot. One foot is naturally better than the other, but work on the weaker foot to make it just as good)

  • Head up look out to your player
  • Football doesn't matter you or your team mate score, it is about your team victory.
  • Try to control & pass the ball to your player.
  • Try to find space to receive the ball.
  • Pass the or shoot the ball on target.
